| Few German hotels can claim a history as rich as that of the Hotel Elephant, which was first officially documented in 1542. The 'Elephant' was the social and cultural focus of Weimar at the close of the 17thcentury. Goethe, Liszt, J.S. Bach, and Leo Tolstoy, to name but a few, were patrons and contributed to the hotel's sterling reputation.

The Richard Wagner Ballroom can accommodate up to 180 guests for festive events and conventions. On the Ballroom's walls, the artist Jiri Georg Dokoupil installed the picture cycle "Ring des Nibelungen." Smaller conferences can be held in the Salon Carl-August and in the Beletage.
Our restaurant Anna Amalia offers a combination of German and Italian gourmet cuisine. Regional specialties from Thuringia are served in the historic Elephantenkeller.
